How to buy a car at Auction
1. Do your homework before going.
You need to get the idea about pricing before you go to the auction. Look at the wholesale price of the type of vehicle you want to buy. I'll personally never buy the vehicle at the wholesale price at auction, I always buy at the price lower than the wholesale.
2. Never bid at first time.
The first time you are at auction, you still don't have any experence. You don't know what is a good deal. Maybe it is a good deal outside, but it is not a good deal at the auction. Some items are announced for some defects. You have to listen carefully. If you fail to do so, you bid at the item with the idea that it have no defects. You will lost your money by doing so. The best thing you can do at the first time is watch. Watch what is the auction price for the car.
3. Always go there early.
Some auction allow you drive the car at the parking lot. Go there early. Then you can drive the cars. Write down the information of the car and the price you want to bid. Never bid higher than the price you wrote.
4. Don't get emotional while bidding.
When you go to auction, onething you notice immediately is that auctioneer speak very fast. There's a good reason that why they are calling the price so fast. When people are emotional, they tend to talk faster. The auctioneer try to make the bidders get emotional so they can compete with the price
without reasoning. If you get emotional, you will find out your were overbiding later.
5. Wait for your chance.
The chance will come when no people notice a car. If only one or two people want to bid at the car, the price of the car won't get higher. This is your chance to save money.
